Founded in 2010 by Denis Pagé, Longitude 80 takes guests on completely bespoke journeys across Asia, Australia and the Pacific. Essentially anything east of longitude 80°E. We create exceptional experiences, seeing to every tiny detail, from chartering helicopters in Vietnam to seeking out the perfect villa in Thailand or hunting down the best art dealers and galleries in Malaysia. Nothing about our itineraries are ‘copy and paste;’ every experience is created around our client’s unique goals and desires.

Our job is to open eyes and minds. To provide amazing travel experiences. Most of them in pure luxury, in private surroundings, with an expert. At other times it’s just sheer energy, surrounded by hundreds of locals. Longitude 80 is the reflection of how I see the world of travel after 25 years of guiding across New Zealand, Asia and the South Pacific. To be a guide is to be a coordinator; a translator of images and sounds; an interpreter of what you are about to see. Guiding is designing and delivering the ultimate private vacation. And hopefully to put the phone away just for a few minutes and soak it in. The selfie can wait.

Our company is very small and very bespoke. We specialise in Asia and the Pacific because it’s a big enough backyard as it is and it means that we can confidently say that we truly know every place we take our clients. We have a strong network and an in-depth knowledge of this part of the world that allows us to get away from the masses and work with the locals on the ground to do things a bit differently. We have a genuine care for our client’s happiness and seeing their eyes light up at a surprise we have planned is what we love.
Our clients choose us because we care. We guide them every step of the way, we host them and know how to manage every situation on the spot because we truly know these places like the back of our hand.

My clients deserve the best
I started my professional life as a marine archaeologist in Canada spending thousands of hours excavating shipwrecks and exploring marine life. But after a big shift and a move to New Zealand, my passion for travelling in Asia and the Pacific was born and I began pioneering adventurous new routes across some well-travelled, and some practically ‘closed’ countries across Asia. After a decade of working for a larger luxury travel company, I left to create Longitude 80 so that I could focus on highly personalised multi-country adventures on a much more personal level. I wanted to focus on Asia and New Zealand, where I had a strong network and extensive knowledge that would allow me to deliver the quality I feel my clients deserved.
what is your superpower?
I love to guide and I love to research
I’ve been guiding for over 20 years, personally taking clients on their journeys so that I truly see the trips I design from their point of view – what works, what doesn’t. It means I can fine tune everything; I’m with them every step of the way, from morning till night, and working with our fantastic local contacts to cover every detail. Even when I’m not personally guiding, my team and I are in touch with our clients every day, making sure everything is taken care of.
what drives me?
Finding something new in the familiar and surprising our clients
I am always travelling to find more inspiration. I especially like to go back to the same countries across Asia and my own home of New Zealand and Australia to keep finding new experiences, new hotels, and to keep meeting new people and experts. I need to see it for myself, I need to travel and spend time exploring. This is the key to creating our luxury journeys across Asia and the Pacific.
